On Tuesday, March 9, I rode Mimi in a lesson. We walked, trotted, and cantered and Mimi was doing GREAT! She didn't spook once throughout the whole ride and she was very calm and relaxed. At the canter on her right lead she kept bowing towards the middle of the ring, cutting of her corners. I was puzzled at why she was doing this. She didn't have her ears back and wasn't spooking at something that could have been in the woods so I didn't understand. Mimi was perfect on her left lead but didn't seem to want to stay on the rail at her right lead. I tried leg yielding her over to the rail. That worked a little but we were still a few horse-lengths away from the rail. Maybe she was just having an off day on her right lead?
We didn't jump at all because we ran out of time and our main trainer is out so a new instructor was teaching the lesson and we weren't allowed to jump higher than a crossrail. : ( After the lesson I had to spray Mimi's rump and saddle area with fungal spray because somehow she got fungus. : ( Probably from rolling in icky pooh mud. It's getting a lot better though! The ride was good and Mimi was GREAT! So I'm happy! (P.S. Sorry for not posting this sooner I've been busy)
